Play (Theater)
When plays are recorded, it is in a "linear" way from beginning to end, and from a fixed camera position as if the camera is a spectator. Besides adding credits there is usually not much more work necessary to be done with the recordings.
Instructions
- Attend a rehearsal and test whether it is possible to record the play
- Prepare yourself for all unexpected occurances that could happen during the play and recording
- Choose the best position for your camera AND for your microphone
- Limit movement of the camera to the bare minimum, and only if this move is necessary to anticipate the action taking place. So don't start to move the camera out of boredom
- Try to record the play without there being any public audience in the theatre
- Inquire whether the lighting can be set slightly higher
- If necessary, record some fragments of the play that you missed during the piece, for instance when your camera was focused on a different part of the stage
