Planning for EduTubePlus pilot phase in full swing

More than 70 teachers in 8 different countries will take part in the forthcoming pilot testing phase of EduTubePlus which will begin in September 2010. In addition to these teachers who will be supervised by EduTubePlus partners, a number of other teachers who have expressed an interest in taking part in the pilot trials will also participate in this trial which will test out the platform and the various services it provides. MoE/ETV cartoon series receives award

The MoE/ETV series of animation stories called “A LETTER: A STORY”, was given 2nd prize in the category “Educational Films” at the 5th ATHENS ANIMFEST AWARDS 2010. EduTubePlus platform integration well underway

A technical meeting took place in Paris on 22-24 of March, between RACTI and Lesite.tv to work on the integration of the system.  One of the main purposes of this meeting was to work on the integration of the Learning Scenario Designer with the main EduTubePlus platform which is almost ready for deployment in the trials that will take place in schools in the coming months.

EduTubePlus at IPON 2010 in The Netherlands

Wim Van den Brulle from KlasCement presented EduTubePlus during the IPON 2010 Fair which took place 10-11 March in Utrecht. This very large annual Dutch event is aimed at teachers, managers and ICT co-ordinators and everyone interested in the use of ICT in education and usually attracts about 4000 visiters from the Netherlands and surrounding countries.  It combines a large exhibition with more than 200 exhibitors, an interesting and engaging propgramme of speakers and the IPON Awards. Meeting in Brussels of EduTubePlus Pedagogical Team

A meeting took place on 25-26 February in the MENON officies in Brussels amongst those EduTubePlus partners involved in the pedagogical work of the project. Core topics under discussion during this meeting included the creation of ETP model templates and scenarios and the work partners have been doing in recent months to create these resources for inclusion in the EduTubePlus platform. The partners also discussed the pilot trials which are about to begin and the evaluation processes that will be put in place to measure the usage of the plaform in classrooms.

University of Hull Supports UK National Education Network

Theo Kuechel from the University of Hull and a partner in EduTubePlus has been reviewing the resources available in the UK through the National Education Network (NEN). EduTubePlus Partners at BaKaFORUM

Several EduTubePLus partners took part in the BaKaFORUM on educational and societal TV and Media held in Karlsruhe 30 Jan – 1 Feb and participated in a special series of sessions entitled "Media Literacy and Global Education".   Markus Nikel from RAI is the programme coordinator of this event and hosted several of the discussions and workshops. EduTubePlus Partners attend BETT

The University of Hull, ATiT and several other ETP partners visited the annual BETT show in London recently along with more than 30,000 other visitors. BETT has become the largest event of its kind in Europe and a key event in the calendar of anyone interested in how media and IT can be used to support education at all levels. EduCentrum Organise ICT Day in Flanders

Around 1100 teachers from Flanders will follow hands-on workshops organised by EduTubePlus partner EduCentrum on Monday 11 January. This is the 16th ICT practice day organised by EduCentrum and teachers taking part can choose from 127 different practical learning sessions. These vary from Photoshop to Adobe Acrobat e-learning, from Windows 7 to My-Digital-Me and much much more. Wim Van den Brulle will be leading two workshops,  on improving filming techniques with a digital video camera and on how to use web 2.0 tools for teaching. Siveco Receives Award as Best Solution for eLearning

EduTubePlus partner Siveco in Romania recently received an award as the "Best Solution for eLearning"  which was given by the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia, during the competition "eLearning in Praxis", 2009. This international competition was part of the 7th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications organised by ICETA and  held in November in Slovakia.
