Types of shots
To create an attractive video, you can use different types of shots in your movie. Here's a list:-
The Long Shot (LS):
The whole body of the person or filmed object is in the shot. Long shots are recorded at quite a distance from the person or object you are filming. -
The Medium Shot (MS):
The medium shot is also not very detailed (as it is filmed from a certain distance) and the shot shows a person usually from his/her head to knee. -
The Close-Up (CU):
The close-up shows only a detail of the scene. When filming a person in this type of shot, this means a shot of only the head and shoulders.
-
Establishing Shot (ES) / Wide Shot (WS):
This shot gives a broad view of the surrounding area or landscape. It shows the wider framework in which the subsequent events will occur. -
Point of View Shot (POV):
This shot is taken from the view point of someone or something, thus showing what the character is seeing or looking at.
