Stage Designing and Painting of the 18th Century

This video shows how stages were set up, painted and animated in the 18th century and is rich in visual content and representation. It presents an exact model of an 18th century stage with all its mechanisms, painting and other paraphernalia. The Lost Wax Bronze Casting Sculpture Process

This video clip which does not have a voice-over shows the ancient process of sculpturing in bronze and could be used to attract students’ attention with strong visual material. It can be used to illustrate this ancient process or as a way to hone skills in observation, prediction amd synthesis. Another way to use this clip is to invite students to prepare their own narration so offering opportunities to enhance presentation skills in different languages.

This clip showing the massive level of destruction and damage to infrastructure, buildings and cities in post-war France could be used in several different ways. It works well as a stimulus or hook to provoke a discussion on a variety of different topics related to conflict, warfare and reconciliation. It could also be used in affective domains as it is likely to encourage or facilitate empathy and emotional engagement on the part of the student.
